Donation-Based CANCER AWARE Massage Foundations TRAINING

Open Enrollment begins March 27th, with access to Regional Trainer Lectures beginning April 14th.

 
16-hour Cancer Aware foundations course is complete with:

  • textbook, online lectures,and (5) – 1 hour sessions with a live regional tutor (online).
  • Regional tutors cover Europe, Latin America and MEIA (Middle East, India, Africa)
  • Online Lectures with Regional Tutors: Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April ?

 
The course is designed in three sections:

  • Section 1: Cancer Foundations: Being Cancer Aware, What is Cancer, General Psychological Impact of Cancer, Evidence-based for massage and cancer, Foundations to adapting massage for a client touched by cancer (in treatment, survivorship, living with cancer, and end of life)
  • Section 2: Linking Treatments and Side Effects from Medical Treatments: Anti-Cancer Therapies and key side effects, Key side effects to the body and its systems, linking massage adaptations to general side effects from Anti-Cancer Therapies, The lymphatic system, Lymphedema aware, Therapist and establishment Hygiene
  • Section 3: Creating a Personalized Session: Foundations of a client consultation, things to consider with other types of medications, understanding the long-term effects of Anti-Cancer Therapy. End of Life and Therapist Self Care.
While we recognize not everyone is in a position to donate, it is not a requirement for registration.  We kindly ask that if you are able to make a donation to pay it forward that you do.
Our donation-based access significantly increases the reach of the necessary foundations training aimed at breaking down the barriers and increasing confidence surrounding cancer and massage.
CIBTAC Level 3, CIDESCO, VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapies, ITEC Level 3 Certificate in Body Massage are pre-requisites for training registration.
